Titirangi expresions of interest for a forum trip

At this stage just trying to gauge interest for a forum trip to Titirangi. (South island Titirangi beach not Auckland)
There is a campground with shitters and water and also a lodge with bunks for up to 29 people and power and equipped kitchen large lounge area etc.

My idea is to book out the lodge and tow a few boats down there, id take both mine if a spare towball is available....even load a quad into my dingy to use for launching if people are precious about salt on their vehicle.

Beach is firm and would be no prob for up to 6m boats to beach launch at all but very bottom and top of tide.(any tide still no problem if you have back up of other vehicles and you will have.

It is one of the outermost parts of the sounds you can drive to and as such offers access (weather dependent) to some relatively untouched fishing and diving.

I personally have never fished any part of the area but snapper should be deep by march, paua and crays for the divers would be a given and if the weather was really really good my boat might land a grouper or bass but really thats more 5-6m boat territory.

I dont want to be to close to the "top of the south forum fishing trip" hosted by forum legend @stingray date wise so I am thinking after that?

late Autumn early winter we generally get those glassy days on the water.

It is not much distance but a very winding narrow poor surface drive from linkwater.

I was bang on 2 hours from havelock on the way in with campers and tourists and 1.45hr on the way out....you can bank on 2hr plus towing......the last bits gravel but apart from the dust is a far better road than the tarseal bit.

Im thinking at least 3 nights to make it a worthwhile trip.

SO are you interested? post up here if so and we will see what sort of interest we get.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

    Extracted from the concession.
    Public access
The Farm Park will seek to enhance opportunities for public recreation and will require public access by foot, while open space recreation and camping facilities are maintained. Adequate provision of recreational hunting access must be allowed for.

So while I have had zero contact with the run holder at this stage hunting on property may be a possibility? otherwise as @Shearer said public hunting land is not far away.

Sounds good and if the date fits I would be interested if an old bugger could be tolerated. Is it near to where the Mikhail Lermontov sank?

    Cheers
