The Tokoroa Shooting Sports Complex is hosting a practical 22LR rifle match on Saturday the 9th of September. This event will have two classes of entry – Hunter class and Open Class. Hunter class will be the basic course of fire with targets placed out to 100m. Open class will have a higher round count, generally tighter time limits, and targets placed out to 200m. Junior and inexperienced competitors are recommended to enter in Hunter class.
The plan is to include a bunch of fun stages (in both classes) involving multiple targets and a variety of shooting challenges – expect some moving targets, barricades, speed stages, movement, etc. The match difficulty will be set such that all competitors should have a fun day regardless of experience!
The competition will be held on Saturday the 9th of September, 2017 (safety briefing at 9:00am). This event is limited to the first 40 paid entries only. The entry fee for this event is $40 per competitor – junior competitors (aged 16 or under) will have a $20 entry fee. This entry fee will be required to be pre-paid to confirm you entry spot.
Competitors will be broken up into squads of 4 or 5 competitors. Each squad will start on a different stage and all stages will be able to be shot at once. As each squad completes a stage it rotates to the next one until all squads have completed all the stages. Squads can be made up of both hunter class and open class competitors. The Course of Fire document will be issued before the competition for competitors to review.
After the shooting is finished we’ll head back to the clubrooms to collate the scores give out a couple of prizes and have a BBQ.
GPR Events will be using this event as a fund raiser to help pay for some new items. These items won't be at this event but hopefully will make an appearance at the next one. Our plan is over the next few events we run we will try and put some of the entry fees aside to eventually pay for a blinktroll target system... I have always wanted a moving target
I'll upload a poster image tonight as well.
