Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
@kukuwai If you have one that hasn't expired then it is still good. Current permits were only suspended while at level 3, they were not cancelled.
From the Doc Site
"Hunting on public conservation land will not be allowed until New Zealand returns to Alert Level 2.
The Director-General of Conservation has suspended all hunting permits issued for recreational hunting while New Zealand is at COVID-19 Alert Level 3.
Excellent, thanks for that @stug I do have one so good to go then you beauty

Does anyone know if the doc huts are open again
They need to be a warranted officer to request your permit. The only time I’ve been asked for a permit was by a Policeman as we walked along the road out by Kawhia.
Huts being open will take a while as they probably need to be cleaned properly.
I wonder what authority they would need to have to request to see your permit.
By encouragement from and sanction of the grievance industry.
Looks like we should get an update from DOC tomorrow.......
Taken from there website just now.

Alert Level 2: What it means
Just like you, we’re excited to get back into the great outdoors under Alert Level 2.
We’re preparing to reopen our facilities to get you back on conservation land and are working through the details of how to do so safely.
You will be able to go hunting (provided you have a permit) under Alert Level 2.
It won’t quite be business as usual - we all need to look out for each other to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Keep an eye on this website – we expect to have an update tomorrow (12 May).

I'm a bit funny about people being able to associate my address with anything to do with firearms. I don't get firearms related stuff delivered here, or have any stickers on the ute. I watch behind me when leaving the gun shop and driving home, band don't have anything with my address on it in the ute. All those sorts of things. Many may think it's wierd, but I don't care.
