    If camping by the car you cant just run off of the car battery ?
    What are you running off of it? Alternators can boot a heap of current back in to a battery in a very short time Ie fridge for a couple of days,start car and run at 1500 rpm for a couple min?

    Need it to be totally standalone from car, ie so I can take it anywhere it doesn't need to be carried too far. Ie fly in trips or camping with family.
