    40l day bag - suggestions

My macpac weka 40l is done after 6 loyal years. Not because it failed, it wasn’t anywhere near that but because my new pup chewed it on our way out hunting Saturday morning! Along with the clips on my bino harness..

I would very happily get another but figure i’ll see what ideas you can all throw me. Has to be around the 40l mark and not too serious that it’s a prick bush stalking. I like to do everything with it from loading it up with boned out meat through to sneaking in on deer in the bush.

    Cheers

Cactus Huntaway. Chuck a fleece top over the outside to keep it quiet in the bush. They can carry a good load.

This. About as good a pack as I've found. Bit noisy in the Bush but easily overcome with a fleece as above

Just seen to that twineedle have some new Molly side pouches. Would probably fit the huntaway to for additional 10 litter capacity.

They’re just in the final stages of designing a new version of the Big Molly as well. Due to market soon. Not sure what capacity of the new version will be yet, but the old Big Molly was about 50L.

I have been really happy with the Tatonka Norix 48ltr for a day pack and overnighter, comfortable carry with an adjustable harness, compresses down well, reasonably lightweight and good functionality. Manages a full load of meat pretty well over long distances. Tried the huntech 40ltr previously and as mentioned above it is good for bush hunting after the first couple of loads of meat the stitching started pulling away where the hip belts attach to pack and there really is not much purchase when looking at what is holding it together. Prefer using a five pocket hip belt when bush stalking. I have seen the Norix now comes in a stealth/fleece fabric but I have not seen one in person, could be a good option.

Spika Drover bombproof packs and you can remove the 40L and fit the 80L on the same frame or remove the pack and use the frame as a meat rack. It is designed to do all those things and I have found my 80L one to be very well thought out.

Absolutely love my huntaway, i would never consider going smaller than that either.

The fleece over it is a good idea if bush stalking, are you guys somehow pulling a fleece bushmans T over it?

I undo the straps and put a blaze warehouse fleece on it. Straps through the arms and then reattach.works well.
