    60csx tips

    My Garmin 60csx has been getting slower at finding position and the compass and direction pointer seems to freeze then jump around on a regular basis,batteries were good ,I had to recalibrate every time To get the compass to show correct bearing ,is there anything or anywhere I can send it for testing?garmin used to refurbish them but website says they no longer do my model.any tips appreciated.jas

    Download nztopo onto your phone. Keep the Garmin at home.

    Seriously though. Upgrade your phone to a water resistant/proof model. Mine is a $300 motorola. works mint

    Mine is rubbish in the bush.... Ok when I've got a really clear view of the sky..but I'd be list without my garmin.....pun intended..

    I have spent anywhere from a couple of hundred to well over a grand on waterproof phones, none of them are.

    I personaly would rather take a dedicated gps and leave the phone at home.....phones are just to fragile and unreliable.

    Have bought a 62s so the old Garmin will be relegated to the boat.

    you could try loading updated software onto it Loading site please wait... this has helped fix bug's in garmin GPS's similar to what you describe for me in the past

    I use a Garmin 62s, bomb proof. I just lost it in the Kaimanawas, probably gonna go for a walk this weekend to try find it.

    I also use a Samsung S8. It's waterproof, love it.

    Decided to send my 60csx to tony from kiwigps,reckons he can sort or out .
