    Aliexpress

Hi guys...just had a bit of a bad experience with Aliexpress...bought one of the Mongar 2 (two man) tents people recommend and a single person tent arrived. Went thru the system contacting the seller, no response so it went to Aliexpress automatically. A couple of days later and their system has no remaining record of the transaction and the mongar 2 was sitting in my checkout waiting for payment.

The details are all there on Paypal so it will be interesting to see the outcome.

Chine seems to be in a hard place.

    Cheers...Chris

It's no big deal...just a cheap tent for Xmas camp...but remarkable that a huge business relying on trust would go there.

That's really suboptimal. Ali has been good to me so far, touch wood, but I admit that I really worry every time I click on the pay button, to the extent that there are things I'd only buy from a brick and mortar shop in NZ.

Yup, been good to me as well. My understanding is Chinese manufacturers are under the pump with rising input prices and lowering prices to get sale's

I might look at PayPals buyer protection.

If you opened a dispute the seller doesn't get paid until it's sorted, but then it has been quite a while since I've bought anything off there. There used to be a countdown of 60 days once you paid within the time you could open a dispute and assuming 3 ish weeks for delivery that gave a few weeks when you could stop them getting paid and have to "talk" with you about your complaint

It still works that way, I just bought something, lodged a dispute but only got a partial refund, the refund was the difference in price was for what I got and what I ordered.
Got a refund when the wrong thing arrived, anyone want a phone case?
Xiaomi Poco X6 Pro 5G/Redmi K70e or a Redmi Note 13 Pro 5g pay the shipping and they are yours

    Yea what rugerman says^^
did this myself a month ago as a belt never arrived but seller said it had been delivered, wasn't keen to reimburse me so i hit the dispute button, explained what had happened and aliexpress replied a couple of days later and put money back on to my credit card.

What Aliexpress did this time was remove every record of the purchase off their site, without Paypal records it wouldn't exist...weird

Keep screen snips & use the dispute functions. Good luck. Based on my experience it'll take 1 to 4 weeks but it'll work out.
I've ordered 300+ time from Aliexpress (including a Mongar) and only needed use dispute 3 times.
1 of those occassions the order disappeared from the website while I was disputing it but it got sorted out anyway and I received refund.
1 wrong item (close but item not exact specs I ordered) and 2 missing items. All 3 times got money back and for the wrong spec got sent correct item and told to keep the wrong one.

never had an issue with a refund, in fact i get better service from ali than most places in NZ

i ordered 25 meters of heat shrink tubing ($18 at ali but $4.50 per m in nz). within minutes of my order received a message saying color ordered was not available, please choose another and 10% off for inconvenience

Yea I havnt had a prob yet, but I also accept there is a risk involved when not being able inspect or pick item yourself at the counter
