sounds like a great light/headlamp to use on push bike...Ive got one made by Coast that works very well,it too has a dimmer slide on the battery pack,I used to often cycle 11kms into town in the dark...cars just would not dip thier lights for a cyclist...well a simple slide of the dimmer soon changed thier minds about that.at full strength and focus its on par with my led lenser torch ...but like most headlamps with wires it has just let go in the wire...nothing a bit of tape cant fix.
if it dies...might have to get one of yours to go with the Archer...when they arrive....

Hi Burts - yep will bring in heaps - likely next month. Very popular.

Bear in mind everyone these are spanking new models and want to get feedback from round country to keep developing them. None of the Maxtoch models are ever 'finished' as such - always playing with them, always up for improvement when a good idea pops up... Wirehunt - thanks for suggestion to bring in spare straps - great idea!!

Tiroa - $150 just a guess - will find out soon. It won't be Led Lenser prices!!

Might have a crack at a photograph - but its a simple looking light.

Great to talk to you last night and understand the development of the torches. You have a real passion for this and it shows.

Thanks Dan - we've had a shooting team for 13 years here in Canterbury and had long periods of absolutely legend shooting. And being kiwi boys we have alot of fun working on more rifles, trucks, lights - whatever to do it better. Maxtoch torches developed out of this. We were nailing occasional reds/piggies etc, and at times over 1000 bunnies in an evening - so all our Maxtochs are field lights first and foremost...

Good fun for the boys developing them, and even though selling them now we'll keep doing it that way..

Hi team. My brothers Maxtoch has stopped working... is there some where in NZ I can send it to get it serviced. I’ve tried a new tail switch and that was not the problem.
There was a guy on here from Upper Hutt who de-domed mine once; is he still on here?

    Thanks

@craigc I think if you PM gadgetman down south, he does repairs. Pretty sure you just send him torch with return postage included and he'll fix it right up. But double check first, in case things have changed.

Yep - just send it own to gadgetman and include return post - PM him on this site.

Maxtoch not required to repair lights people have altered but we tend to look after them anyway...

Just a quick comment boys on Maxtoch guarantees. The written guarantee for Maxtoch lights is one year covering replacement parts and labour - 'if problem caused by normal use'. Then lifetime on parts so long as they're available. In effect Brian covers both parts and labour free for as long as we have bits. That's just goodwill - bit extra we are happy to do..

If you've modded it, home dedomed it, botched it etc - best to tell Brian in your PM. He's a generous bugger and will likely still repair it for you, but we need to look after him.. And when sending your lights, as guys have suggested earlier in this thread, a paid return courier bag is good.

I'd also suggest really looking after these Maxtochs. They cost more these days and they are a special bit of electronic/optic lens kit. I've dropped my Maxtochs from the truck hunting 2-3 times, but always on grass, and without damage. But .. best to treat them more as you would a scope. For rough work - on the job etc - I use a $10 cheapie.. doesn't matter if I drop it.

This is photo of the prototype of the new Maxtoch LR headlamp. Production model will be flasher. This headlamp is bigger and heavier than HO1R as it needs much bigger reflector and metal surround to allow for beam throw, and to dissipate heat. Around 290gms? with two protected 18650s in it. Single push button switch front left for on/off, and to operate its infinitely variable mode selection (like a dimmer). Very simple, not too heavy on head, and comes with USB charge cable/plugin - though you''re probably better off with dual charger. My test model about 540 meters range ANSI = down to 1 lumen or equivalent full moonlight on target. HO1R about 80-100 meters - that's a camper light.

No price yet - in production about 10 days time.
