Hi Craig - the H01R headlamp is a little camper/walker lamp with 80-100m range tops. Detachable from head strap - I used mine most as a wee stand up light.
Good quality, several white beam modes, plus 2-3 red modes for night vision. 18650 battery in light.
XPro can come alone, or with batts/charger/mounts etc - whatever setup you need. Does not come with red/green filters. We did test red and green leds in the 2X but shelved them as they showed less field advantage than the ordinary white beam led which has 4x as much power.
Here are some reviews with night shots for the new M1 Archer and the 2X. Done by Texas Dave who has done good test work with Brian and I developing M24 and 2X. M1 Archer very strong in bunny range. Photo light testing starts about 8.50 into this review:

And here are some pics from the 2X. Hard to get exact photographic idea - depends on mist/fog/dust in atmosphere etc. Has alot more flood than these pics capture - not a laser pencil beam only. Good for scanning whole paddocks in few seconds.

No beam shots for XPro yet - too new..
Someone here moded a couple of these to run off the bike, works a real treat.
One mounted on the helmet and another on the rifle and forget about charging batteries.
Can I get a price for some new batteries and charger please pickup christchirch. Also a powerful headlight
2x - Bright.....
Haven't tried it on the boat yet, however, giving it a go in the morning over water in the dark, very impressed.
@mudgripz fantastic com's and real fast delivery.
Now to get the boat back from the shop (service and getting some toys fitted), and try the 2x out on a early morning mission......

You should hire this guy @mudgripz.
He is a nerd herd commander but seems to be having a good time[emoji16]

Huge amount of spill on that uber mega chip, looks more like a flood pattern but I guess you could change that with a different reflector
Very good :) :)
We've played with some real doozies - like the Maxtoch XSword with 2300m range. Hunter light - no. Yes small size, and extreme pencil beam so you could spot a gnat's testicles at 500 meters. Thing is .. we don't shoot alot of gnats. No hunt value at all - zero spill. Excellent for that small hobby group who enjoy lasering aeroplanes at night...
Problem with this dude's light is size and weight. From a hunting perspective the best thing to do with it is weld two together, tailcap to tailcap, and use it in your weights programme. But .. for a fun light its pretty wicked..
We keep playing with new variations, new LEDs etc, but probs with the big, high output LEDs include heat, extreme battery drain, and weight. Suppose you could put a flat area on top of one of those huge reflectors - fry bacon as you spotlight. Or rabbit backsteaks. Could be a winner - talk to Brian about that..
saw one of the BIG police led lensers in action the other night....these puppies are bigger/heavier/longer than the old 6 x D size maglights with flared end the size of my tea mug (750mls I like me tea) yes they lit up hill side BUT that heavy they come with a shoulder strap and they tell me they really suck the juice and dont last long at all. my little led lenser was maybe 20% as good. I reckon it was on par with a good plug in spotlight of the 90s but whiter rather than yellow light.
cant wait to get a hold of an ARCHER to try out..........
Led lenser very very very old tech.
Their top of the line X21.2R has 7 little leds to project its 3200 lumens, whereas every update light manufacturer may use just one. X21.2R is a monsta at 407mm long, 1.418 kilos in weight, and needs a shoulder sling!! It has max range of 700 meters..
By comparison the baby Maxtoch M1 Archer is just 145mm long, weighs 185gms with batt, and has max range of 800 meters. And because it uses ultra modern LED it does not need zoomie operation - has more hotspot focus than the huge LL, and good spill with it. Oh... and the little Archer costs about $105 delivered (with holster), while big LL costs between $750 and 990 in NZ...
Go figure!!
I spoke to a guy in the Hunting and Chinese polar fleece store a while back, and he reckoned cops were buying it since it was so heavy to give the bash with. That is about all those led lensers are good for :)
Be keen for an M1 Archer to fuel my Led addiction...
Getting real sick of the shit battery life on my led lenser head torch it eats 4 aaa battries in less than than 30 minutes on high, seriously its likely to be more like 15 minutes before it starts flashing, how far off are the new long beam head torches
I look forward to getting an archer so I can put it up against the big "copper whopper" and really see it for myself....
Can't tell you when new LR headlamp will be ready - tested, approved by us, awaiting production - will keep on it Dan. Which LL headlamp do you have that chomps batts so bad? The new Maxtoch LR headlamp will have minimum 2 hours on high with its 2 x 18650 batts - vastly superior power unit to the LL's old 4 x AAAS.
M1 Archer is very little at 145mm or 5 1/2", but it pumps out 1650 lumens with its 800m max range. Ideal for a copper. Maxtoch also do a flood beam variant of our hunter 2X. This has a single 3800 lumen XHP70.2 LED with range of over 650m = 20% more lumens with similar range to whopper LL X21.2R with its seven leds!! But this flood beam variant of our 2X weighs only 400gms or so with batts, and costs a quarter as much as that huge led lenser. That's modern tech... Flood 2X not really a hunter light like the 2X Shooter, M24, XPro etc. Nor is that bloody big Led lenser.

Rugerman could be closer to the truth than you think. I worked with an ex copper many years ago when they had the big mag lights. He and his mates loved them in the force. To produce their battens and use them involved one hell of a lot of paper work afterwards he said. The mag light was just as effective and virtually no paper work he reckoned. I'm all for less paper work as well
Another 5 possums shot using the maxtoch last night.
@mudgripz my mates CZ 452 looked pretty slick with the 2X scope mounted on it. He is really happy with it. Cheers [emoji106]
@gadgetman can i please send this one to you for de-domming. Let me know if you can do it and ill get it down to you. (or would i be better off to replace the board?)
If you can there is no hurry as i still have the M24 to use [emoji106]

Woooo!! ... just had another contact too with comments 2 out of 3 of his Seo7r LL headlamps died this weekend. That's not good for $159 apiece. Little Maxtoch HO1Rs half the price and seem to be sturdy wee units.
HO1R headlamp has a 1000 lumen XML2 LED - pretty bright one - so runtime with two batts about 2 hours on its turbo mode. But ... if walking/camping etc you'd be operating down on high or medium = 4-10 hours? Heaps. M1 Archer has only single cell to run its Luminus SST-40 high output 1650 lumen LED. Runs at max 800m for 3 minutes before stepping down to medium which is 575 meters. Didn't notice alot of difference between high and med out shooting recently. Runtime on one batt about 50mins?
Im keen on an Archer M1 please when you have stock, thanks
Can you point me to some photos of the headlights please @mudgripz
Must admit I'm enjoying a wee petzl actik core atm, great little camp light and the real beauty, mini usb charging
A comment on the little M1 Archers ..
This is a light Brian and I pondered for several months. It's little but has an extremely high performance LED in it. In initial form it produced alot of heat which we don't want, but over time we've experimented and made some tweaks to avoid this problem. We have set its high mode (800m) at 3 minutes before automatic stepdown to medium (575m). We don't do 'stepdowns' normally, but in this case we've said yes because this is basically a wee 22 scope light, it'll sit on the rifle, and more often than not just be switched on and off for popping rabbits. It will less often be used for full time spotlighting - that's the M24/2X/XPro job. But .. it certainly can do field scanning etc in high mode, or in medium. I didn't really notice much difference between 800m Hi and 575m Medium when using them in the field. So M1 Archer best as a scope light, will also do spotting if necessary, though not nearly as good as the bigger Maxtochs.
Wirehunt - here's the aliexpress info on HO1R. Note - we don't use cheap wee chargers on offer here. We stay with alot better double charger with wall/usb/car adaptors, and ability to do both 18650s and the new 21700 batts. HO1R a sturdy little unit, 1000 lumens, about 100m range, 5 white and 2 red modes, usb charger cable. I use mine most out of its headstrap as a wee freestanding light:

Mudgripz so it can be charged directly via usb? Or does the battery have to come out? And have you got them on the shelf or do you prefer us to buy through Ali?
Side note: I long for the day torches are not all black. Bright blue, hot pink, fluro green are sensible colours for torches unless you live in the Antarctic, then black is good. But for the rest of us black sucks as the amount of time spent at night looking for those black torches is hideous.
Same goes for magazines
Wire - HO1R can be charged directly with batt in it by its usb plug in. If you're running headlamp alot (or using any other 18650 gear) then a good 2-batt charger best.
No - NZ clients buy through me rather than aliexpress. We have just set up all systems and full consignment/stocks will here within couple of weeks.
Colors - I think they do colours in other lights... I like black but if enough people wanted different colours it could certainly be done.
@Wirehunt...... buy some glow in the dark powder off trade me for stuff all...go to $2 shop and buy some nail varnish in whatever colour you like (agree hot pink is good, blue better) mix some GITD powder in with nail polish and go to it...works good on the light switches around the house too, front sight/beads are awesome ....
Did think about something along those lines micky but wondered about it affecting the heat retention of the light.
Great news - the new concept Maxtoch LR headlamp in production in 2 weeks, so should be available not long after. This is a wee beauty - it is miles ahead of any other hunting headlamp on the planet. Very simple, quite small, not too heavy for an LR at about 270gms including pair of 18650s, ideal beam balance (long distance centre hotspot plus plenty of flood for scanning), excellent CRI (tint - colour temperature), and one push infinitely variable mode switch - you can choose any output level you like. And a 540m max range. Mmmmm... Took 2-3 years and now its due.. It went out for last full field test to Shane (4 Boars on other Fish n Hunt site) down in Waimate. This is his feedback after couple of night shoots on roos:
"I took the maxtoch LR headlamp out for another run shooting wallabies. Like most things new, you have to use them 2 or 3 times to evaluate how good they are. The second time out with this headlamp, its very good. I`m not up there on the technical stuff, I will leave that to the experts. My thoughts on the practical side of this headlamp, I can`t fault it, light colour is very good for spotting animals, has very good distance for a headlamp (better than anything else I have used). Also as Mudgripz said it is good for sweeping paddocks. The sliding switch is a great new innovation, great for gutting and reloading when dimmed down. The design of the headband and the positioning of the headlamp, in my opinion is very good, not big and glumsy like some headlamps. It looks simple and well put together, the last thing a hunter wants is a malfunction in the middle of the night. I was out for 2.5hrs and didnt need to change the batteries but the headlamp was turned off when shooting. Another 32 roo`s in the chiller.
I think Mudgripz n Gadgetman have done a great job of designing this headlamp, as I have said I have been wanting a light like this for years. It keeps night shooting by yourself simple.
I can`t really suggest any improvements Mudgripz, except get this light into production so us hunters can get them out in the fields. Cheers "
That's pretty cool. From the field. Heaps of lights on their way now...
One thought - had yarn with Dan from Taupo last night - he rang to sort out exact lights for his uses. If anyone unclear what you need, send me a PM then call me to find out which Maxtoch best..
Cheers Mike
Put my name on one of those head torches when they arrive please Mike.
Ill give it to the young fella for his birthday, he will be stoked. His current one is a waste of time.
Also don't forget to let me know when you have some new chargers in stock.
Cheers again for the top service [emoji106]

Great news Muddy :)
Put me down for 1 when they get here. I really like the idea of the switch on these, should be great for both long range and close work :)
Let me know when the headlights are here and I'll take two.
Are you bringing spare head gear in for them?
As a comparison point in NZ, Led Lenser offer two longer range headlamps.
There is their H14r.2 which weighs 340gms, has range of 300m, and costs $299. Then their big XEO19R lamp weighs 478gms, range 300m, cost $499-549.
The new Maxtoch LR weighs about 280gms with 2x18650s in it, has range of 540m, and will cost ?? $150?
There are long range headlamps on aliexpress - big miner type lights which claim range of 500-800m. Might be true - might also be chinese meters!
As with every design we do, maximum range is never the sole criterion. Always after the whole package with a light - i.e. light weight, reliability, quality build, extreme output, optimum beam balance, optimum colour tint, runtimes, latest LED tech, switching etc.
haha I wouldn't expect their meters to be any different to their lumens :)
Got any pics of the LR head lamp ?
Put me down for one please :)
Hope you have a container of these coming as i know a lot of people who will want them !!!
Good stuff guys
