Anyone using Pacific Ears filtered plugs?

So after 12 years, it looks like one of my Starkey Magnum Ears has given up the ghost. Before I commit to a set of electronic replacements (I'm guessing either Soundgear or Starkey again), I thought I'd have a quick look at the Pacific Ears filtered earplugs like these: https://pacificears.co.nz/product/pro-impulse/

They're certainly a lot cheaper than the electronic ones! Has anyone used them? From the description I guess they dull your hearing by 15dB the entire time you're wearing them, even before you pull the trigger?

If they have a non-linear filter in them, they will let softer sounds through far more than loud impulses. However, nothing will match electronics when it comes to hearing softer/useful sound.

    I used to use them.
Very comfortable to wear all day.

Stopped using them when my hearing deteriorated so much the attenuated too much I couldn’t hear anything in the bush.
Bought a suppressor and hope for the best.

Electronics that amplify are good here...

I find them absolutely brilliant, improves my hearing greatly for bush stalking, yet i can shoot unsupressed not an issue.

Thanks all. Sounds like I'll be looking for electronic rather than passive replacements, I'll look further into the various electronic options.

Did you go with the universal tip or the custom fitted tip? Am curious what additional performance the custom tips provide.
