you can say what you like about them, but cant deny they just plurry well work...they are sharp from the getgo and plurry easy to keep sharp....if they were 1" longer on both ends....a fella would never need another knife.

Look, we have talked about this before. You know very well that they are a crime against fashion. They are right up there with crocs and a mullet.

its no harder than a mercator...you just have to hold the same angle that the blade already has...forsure your blade is a lot steeper than a flat grind but its no different to sharpen except you dont need to tip up anymore at all. just hold your angle and it does the work for you.

When they get blunt and heavy on the shoulder, Find a carpenter who has a Tormek sharpener for his chisels. Get him to reset the edge. It will be hollow ground if you prefer that grind.

Should never need to put chisels or plane irons on a grinder, mine have never been near one in 30+ years of owning or using, I don't even own a grinder apart from cutting ones.

Good advice. Although in the case of the Bahco I think a bastard file would be quite appropriate. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/basta...%20very%20fine.

    Lathe chisels/gouges?

Pretty difficult to cut a hollow grind with an oil stone HJ.

Back on point it’s not hard to change a scandi grind or flat grind to a hollow grind and make them a bit quicker to sharpen.

I bought 4 of them today lol. We do a lot of surf casting on the Coast so I might grab a couple more to cover our bases.
