    Basjproof phone ideas

Am needing a new phone. Have a Samsung xcover that has been destroyed in less than 4months.

I keep dropping the damn thing and it always seems to he on concrete floors.... went to noel lemming, they just had the same thing which isnt going to work.

Need to be dustproof and waterproof (sort of taken for granted if its bashproof) have heard good things about the 'cat'phones from a few people.

I had a cat phone - yes it was tough, but not unbreakable... and the operating system was clunky.

Now I've got a Samsung S9 and a couple of drop proof cases of increasing bashability depending on expected use.

Am trying to avoid having a case for it.... dont have to be that impressive computer wise dont do any gaming or graphics work (do topo maps and satellite shots count) but it does need to hotspot to use internet on the laptop. Will likely put an extra sd card in it as well so memory isnt an issue

I've got an Xcover too, it's a work one so I have been known to give it the message. I can recommend the folding covers ( the "leather" wallet types) as providing pretty good protection when the phone has "fallen" onto the concrete in excess of the pull of gravity

Not denying it.... will have a look into oppo as an option, would prefer to be closer to $400 than $800!

I’ve had one of these since Christmas and love it but I’ve never been hard on phones but would get another one in a heartbeat.

I don't mind buying a few cheap things through AliExpress and the likes but not sure about new phone sort of $$ expecting a genuine article with no software issues.

Ideally walk into a shop (remember them) failing that online on a NZ website that says it's in stock!

I just use an impact case. Doesn't cover the screen. And a ziplock sandwich bag for full waterproof and dust proof and touchscreen compatible.
