    Benchmade Hidden Canyon knife

Hey, just wondering if anyone is using this knife and what peoples thoughts are on it? Is it too short? Real comfortable in hand. Yanks seem to like it but that might be because of their US made bias.

The Steep Mountain looks like a more traditional (& safer) bet but I like the solid handle material of the Hidden Canyon.

    Cheers.

I cant comment on the Hidden Canyon but have had a Steep country as my main knife for the past couple years (actually literally just passed it on to my sister yesterday as shes started hunting now) its been a great knife, good shape skins and bones well, good in the hand (im about a medium size hand I suppose) easy to sharpen (S30V steel from memory) needed a bit of inox every now and then under the handle material to keep rust at bay was about the only complaint I had with it. Been replaced with one of @Nga custom "Jack" knives

Plenty of replicas on aliexpress for them for around 6-$12? Last i'd read the replicas were meant to be pretty awesome, razor sharp and held an edge pretty well.

Thanks @Ryan_Songhurst Good to hear your liked the steel. It's a shame they dont make the Steep Country with G10 scales as an option. I have read of others getting water under that rubbery handle too.

    Cheers.

Benchmades S30V is excellent and holds an edge very well. I have the steep country hunter and the ubiquitous 940 folding knife, both in S30V.

The hidden canyon looks like great knife. I really like my steep country, although the sheath sucks, something to be aware of.

    Really like my 940 too

Agree, Benchmade is let down by some of their sheaths. The Kydex sheath on the HC seems ok as the retention point seems quite high up.

Would also like their Bushcrafter but that's being greedy

Their new puukko looks pretty awesome, in 3V as a nice change.
