Garmin chrono been mentioned a lot - echo those thoughts. Bit of kit I got this year that has changed things the most for me - MTN Gear gas refill adapter.

Simple, easy bit of kit to consolidate all your half empties and then buy a big donor cannister. Game changer.

The gas transfer valve is a great bit of kit but I think MNTgear are taking the piss a bit at $30.

Yeah pretty steep for what it is. I think I got it for $24 when I purchased something else. If I had known about the Ali express version I probably would have given that a try first.

In fairness that's a sale down from like $9 plus GST when I got mine of Ali like 3 years ago it was closer to $15 as there wasnt so many listings.

If you allow for the fact his are branded and have packing it not like he's making a huge profit.

He doesn't sell many I'm farily certain he just did a run ages ago and hasn't restocked. Plus he's NZ stocked.

My first on of Ali didnt work and not much to do in terms of recourse.

Ali is by far the cheapest option especially if you time a sale but if you ring up and figure out the cost to get some done custom with your branding and factor in your time to ship them I think it rich to say he's taking the piss.

Some of his nicer products have such little margin in them anyway he's stopped doing them as he doesn't want to charge too much ie the tahr and chamois stands.

Well there’s an hour or two of my holiday sorted and a few cubic feet of storage freed up. Just ordered one for myself.

Mmh, hard pass on refilling butane gas canisters.

In order to get the gaseous fuel to migrate from one bottle to another, you have to heat one of them up to create a temperature differential.

Those valves and seals are designed to work one way, to release gas out of the canister, not let it migrate back in.

If you are concerned about getting value for money out of camping fuel, run an MSR or similar pump bottle cooker on kerosene (white gas).
