I have a minaret and have had it in very high winds with no issues
    Seems a good weight/strength balance

I to tried a microlite and found it was a bit wanting if you had to pitch it on uneven or difficult ground. After a lot of sifting about I chose a One Planet Goondie single man. I've only test pitched it so far but its good as long as you don't' mind an inner first sequence (the inner i is somewhat rainproof so its not n issue to me. One planet make a range including a two man - if you are going above the bushline in the South Is it might suit your purposes.

I've only got a one man jobbie too, suits me just fine. Doite version of what you are talking about sort of. It has a very small vestibule type area but fits me and the dog inside quite snugly, pack outside in the vestibule.
