    Bino chest rig

Righto, just managed to buy a nice pair of 10x25 binos.
Looking for a chest harness/bag for it.
Not really looking for a small pack type arrangement, just a small pouch barely big enough for them and maybe a more bar lol, with shoulder straps.
    Thoughts everyone?

Do you really need a full chest rig for 10x25s? I reckon just a wee belt pouch type of thing cobbled onto the shoulder strap of your pack would be plenty good enough.

Sort of what I was thinking. But some of those shoulder harnesses are cheap enough for a stand alone system

From the options i’ve seen and been through, Kuiu is my favourite. Not sure you need a harness for 10x25s though?

I have/use the Badlands bino/mag and fit my pair of Steiner Ranger style bino's / bulky Bushnell 1 mile range finger and my Smartphone (for ballistics calls) all in the one set up. Being a chest rig really easy to just undo one lower clip to move out of the way to move into prone firing position -with all your gear there. The mag top is VERY useful over zips and the likes when on the move and scanning slopes.

If you want as something simple look at Rick Young Outdoors /Bino Harness.

I can't find an Australian distributor but they freight anyway.

He also shows several methods of slinging his harness on You Tube
Might cost about $70 unless you get a couple of mates to get them with combined postage.

I have not used one , but I'm hoping/ planning to get one.

Personally I think you could easily make one like that out of shock cord but I think it would be incredibly uncomfortable and would cut into you.
The badlands magnetic ones are great and very comfy, but even with my old 10x32 leicas I couldn't fit the range finder in with them, I suspect the case would be the same with 10x25s.
I have been considering buying a spika drover bino rig they look very well designed, bigger than a badlands with 2 side pockets and a front pocket but not huge like the bushbuck bino bro which seems by most accounts to be too big to be convenient and useful.
    My 2 cents anyway

I have read that some say the shock cord cuts in if you only wear a T shirt. I usually have a collar.
New Zealand is cold isn't it?
I thought about making one, but with the clips etc I considered buying a Rick Young's.
I would buy the parts off eBay but I would hope he uses quality materials and suitable shock cord. Decent quality, not to heavy not to light and not to harsh or textured.

I also am only considering carrying compacts so that why I'm thinking that,
The idea has been on the backburner cause I've been buying other gear, never ending pursuit of just the right gear

My Lecia 10 x 25s easily fit in a bush shirt pocket, works well.
