I agree with Wildcat, look around second hand stores, you'll be surprised whats sitting there, especially the charity stores, they get given a lot of estate stuff and they sell it for not very much. On a different note, I needed to upgrade my bino's and thought I would try and combine a range finder with them at the same time, I ended up with a pair of Nikon Laserforce 10x42's, they weren't available in NZ at the time so ended up finding a pair in the U.S. for $1100nz, very lucky, and am more than happy with how they preform.
