Looking for a lite weight hooped bivy bag. Does anyone have any feedback on either the terra nova jupiter lite or the outdoor research helium?

I had an OR Helium for a while, it was very light and compact but I only ended up actually sleeping in it about 3 times (all on the tops not in the bush) and didn't really get on with it - got quite a lot of condensation inside and the flap design/hoop position isn't great for ventilation or keeping it off your face, slippery material so tended to slide downhill if you were on a slope.
I haven't had any other bivy bags to compare it with though, I might have had the same grumbles with any bivy bag in the same conditions.
What are you planning to do with it? Tops? bush? My experience with stand alone water proof bivys mirrors gravelbens, they are small, tight and condensate pretty badly. They are really designed for cold dry alpine environments.
I run a borah gear bivy now under either a small flat tarp in the bush or a single person mid shelter on the tops, works sweet. Total shelter weight either way is 500-700 grams so not a big sacrifice either way
Have a tent for longer trips, just looking to be able to do light overnighters when the weather is good
Hey mate. I went through a similar process a couple of years ago. Read a lot of reviews etc and settled on the Tera Nova Jupiter. It's really good. Haven't used it a heap but have never had condensation with it (touch wood).
I previously had an OR micronight, thinking that the lighter would be better for condensation (& use under a tarp) but it condensated really bad.
If you pay postage, I'm happy to send it up to you to try out in your backyard etc. It's a hard product to find in the shops to try out. PM me if you're interested.
Hey feebz do you have the goretex jupiter or the jupiter lite, i think i will end up with one of these or the outdoor research helium. Top man for the offer to will keep in mind
Good spotting. Mine is the Goretex version, so a touch heavier. All good re offer.
