    Black Stag 600

I’ve not used this as intended nearly enough but I’m off into the back country on Friday. My wife tells me she has gotten cold every time she’s used it.
I’m expecting up to -6 maybe a touch colder.
I’ve got tomorrow to bite the bullet and spend the coin buying a new bag or will it do the business?
Any experience or advice would be awesome

Plus 1 for the inflateable mattress. Especially the down filled ones. Once you have spent a night on one you will never go back. I use a ratty 16 year old bag up thar hunting and am warm as toast with a liner and the down matt

It's a warm bag so I would start elsewhere like a insulated mat. Twin needles can stuff more down in if you want to boost it.

Not sure if you are fly camping or not but I picked up a thermarest neoair xtherm from taihape sports very cheap compared to elsewhere, this is the older valve model otherwise the same as new one

put a liner in it....if you really worried and not carrying it too far,sew a single sheeet into one...the flannelette one will have you toasty as...even the cheap, silk like ones from warehouse make huge difference....a windproof cover over it makes more difference than I previously believed.

What matt are you using? It is essential that you use a high quality matt. Eg thermarest xtherm. These do wonders

I was using a summer weight down quilt with an xtherm last week in the alps, got down to -5. I was toasty.

Also ensure you have a quality down/synthetic puffy incase it gets proper cold

I can’t believe it’s only -5 up on those Alps at the moment though. It’s -2 around here.
A good mat will certainly help as the boys have said

Thanks guys. I went into town with the wife and she insisted I buy the RAB Ascent 900, glad I did as I was super toasty. The 600 will do as a backup or a loaner👍
Very successful weekend for the team as well😃

I was super warm in my hammock. One down underquilt, two summer weight overquilts. Toasty.
