a bit up the road possibly but locally made try TwinNeedle in chch, they do a Puttie, Gaiter, and the whole hog "Chaps" as well.
I wear Markhor gaiters and have been very happy with them, however given that i don't wear them every time I got out they probably only get 5-10 days use a year.
They do have a nylon canvas inner so tend to sweat if used in hot weather.
In the plus side, s/s wire under, domes, zipper and velcro up the front. Do a great job of keeping my boots dry in creek and river crossings up to the knee.
Bottom third outer is heavy Black nylon canvas then upper 3/4 is Silent micro fleece outer which is quiet to walk in, probably not so hard wearing but the nylon inner will last a long time.
