See a few guy's heating boots in front of fire and with heatguns here...if your boot has a pu midsole or pu sole unit you are reducing greatly the life of your boot....most manufacturers state not to heat your boots in this way and generally speaking heat from the sun should be sufficient. I have a pair of hanwag triglavs and the manufacturer recommends of course their own hanwax..having used several products and owned several different brands over the years, I would rate this wax over most others and equal to the rest....have used snoseal too and don't like it but that's my opinion.....check out what the manufacturer recommends and use that but don't over heat the leather or sole unit on your boot you will dry out and damage the leather and begin a process of breakdown in pu soles which most boot brands have..leather loves conditioning so I would recommend waxing regularly and especially around where the leather meets sole and around the tongue...cheers
