Brass monkey 12v fridge - any good?

Had a wee cheap repco fridge in the truck for a couple of years, which has finally given up the ghost.

See Jaycar have brass monk ones on sale.
Wondered if they are any good or if better ones exist for the same coin.

they work ok, better at maintaining a temp than dropping it . so fridge your cold stuff and then transfer it to the brass monkey. you may get a better deal from bursnco though

I have the 75l dual compartment model with a battery and the extra solar panel, it works perfect as a fridge but struggles when I have 1 side as a freezer.

Have a 60l dual zone, really rate it.
will pull down and freeze fresh white bait in a couple of hours.
Only minor issue is if have one half freezer and turned right down the bottom of the fridge will freeze if not going in there regularly.
Pay to check Burnsco but I would be surprised if they were competitive with Jacar specials.

I've got the 50L dual zone in the camping ute and had it running of a second battery for a 2 month trip around the country, never had an issue as a fridge or freezer. I've also got the newer 25L fridge in the work ute and it runs 24/7 on a second battery, once again never had any issues.
Best way to keep them running is have them full, a full fridge will keep the temperature lower for longer

    I have 2 40l
Not as good ad an engel , but hey 1/4 the price. 1 runs quiet as , the other fairly noisy
They not as well insulated as a engel/ waeco , bee. Going non stop on solar since October maintains -13 deg C
Will freeze about 1l water in 8- 10 hrs if everything else is frozen

NB Waeco is now Dometic. They are double the cost of a Brass money but still way cheaper than a Engel.
I have one thats 25 years old mostly lived on a yacht. Started playing up 3 years back, now needs a new power board.
