Thread: Bum Bags

I use a 7 pocket bum bag but have removed 2 pockets to give more room for the knife on the belt, and on days when I need wet weather gear of extra layer that may come off a 25 ltr pack as well.

I take
Rangefinder (use it as binos as well as this one has good optics and is comfortable to use)
camera (small waterproof one)
ammo, Knife, small diamond steel,bi-pod (If longer shots are possible)
Lens cleaning gear and an oily rag and rope pull through and tape
water, snacks (scrogin or the likes)
GPS, Compass and if I dont know the area map
A little first aid gear, small gauze bandage and pain killers minimum and ass paper
Survival blanket that has a small light Gerber pocket knife in with it as well flint, rag and rubber

If its a bush bash mission I don't take all of that.



If I have the pack it will have a water bladder, meat sack, rain coat and on occasion extra food and mini cooker for winter (mid day hot drink or noodles)



Some of the newer bum bags with the zip down packs would be handy for winter when you strip layers of clothes.... uznip the pack part and chuck the jacket etc in
