Some of that reputation seems to be coming from 2 sources:
1) stoney creek fanboys that never owned anything else.
2) People that had something "fail" on them years ago and still are pissed off about it.
There is a lot of believing that they are bad around and the fact that they do apparrently not count as a status symbol.
There are bad experiences with bushbuck stuff out there (apparrently their sleeping pads are bad) and I find their marketing super dodgy, and their practice around inflated prices and constant sales is annoying as well.
But what I have noticed with the stuff that I own and regularly use: well designed and not of lesser quality than any of the other "hunting brands"
It would be nice if people with actual experience pointed out what their experience was and when...
They have a showroom in chch, definately worth a visit.
As for the destroyer pack, when looking at it I found look and feel to be less "worthy" than my Tatonka Bison. But many well thought-out features, that other packs lack.
The Bison has many of problems of its own. Its made in Vietnam by the way for those that still do not understand that everything is made in asia nowadays.
I wish they did a bison "harness" with a pack like the destroyer.
