    hai dere,

bought a outdoor research 800 loft puffer jacket, with waterproof shell, have worn it in the rain twice and YES its actually waterproof, was $380 at bivouac on spesh. don't know why you would bother with a synthetic jacket, the main benefits of down are that it packs down nice and compact and keeps you warm. realisticly, its not ideal to wear these sorts of jackets purposely in the rain so in theory if its raining, wear a rainjacket and then theres no need for a synthetic jacket that might or might not stay warm when it gets wet.

I see this cactus stuff, but some of their prices are a bit exorbidant so ill stick to the better value euro stuff in the meantime.

Yeah don't look at cactus look at wear on earth. $340 for a hooded 750 loft custom fit and fabric options... If it gets damaged the shop is right here in nz to fix it up

Perceived value is always a funny one. If it lasts twice as long, then anything below twice the price is better value. Plus Cactus gear is made here in NZ rather than by some kid being payed 20c/hour in an Indonesian sweatshop.
Gruff, kiwijames, Pengy and 1 others like this.
