No I didn't. Wanting to go into his shop at some point. Love the fact that you can personalise it to your needs. I do notice I don't have sleeves on in when cold but hate them when inside a hut cooking, (feel like Michigan man) I'm sure you will b happy with it

Great...not as puffy as I thought. I have the Swazi Merino one and too puffy, but not as bad as the cheaper Macpacs and Kathmandhus. I have the Macpac Supanova and it is fantastic.
Wear on Earth make the Cactus Puffers for them. I had one made a while ago and love it. He made the outer out of a more durable and water proof material that he says is far better than the cactus fabric.
Yep, Wear On Earth make a cool product. My partner took hers on our winter Alaska trip and it was great - she didn't bother getting a jacket over there just used her Wear On Earth one at temperatures down to -30C.
I seem to remember that WoE made the Swazi puffers as well as the Cactus ones.
The Swazi one is really well made but just not packable. Will gocheck out WoE.

I got the boy sorted with a Cactus Canvas down jacket over the weekend at the CHC Cactus store, not for hunting tho, it'd never pack down small enough.
It had some cool features, tough as nails canvas outer that should shed a bit of water if it's sprayed with Grangers, and a removable hood with a weather flap to cover the zip on the jacket collar, when the hood is off.

Why do you think he said that? Very well made jacket, quite tough outer. It wasn't called that name?? (btw do not google image search for it - unpleasant images). My preference now is a ultralight puffer (Macpac Supernova) and a good wind/rain outer if needed.

Blair at WoE used to repack down sleeping bags too, bloody handy if your old bag had lost its loft. Not sure if he still does now tho'. I've got a few of his garments, top quality stuff. He was always partial to venison when I got a few bits from him ;)
Just got my wear on earth jacket turn up today. Very awesome, got made in a 2 layer olive goretex with an orange liner. Looks like the one in the picture on page 3. Weighs 925gr and packs down to 300x14 which is the same size and weight as the huntech rain jacket but this is a lot warmer. Will be great bivy hunting.

My wear on earth vest comes with me to work everyday, only had to use it a couple of days but damn it's nice and toasty

This is by far the best down jacket I have used. I've had Kuiu & Mountain Hardware gear and this is much better. Love it, so warm.

I enjoy supporting NZ Made products. Blairs cost me about $350 shipped which is crazy cheap when you compare to other big brands. And IMO these are much higher quality, if not the bestQuote:
