Calling all Mtn gear bipod owners :mouse:

Looking at potentially picking up one of these and after having a look around at what people have said I've seen a few mentions that it can rattle when attached to the rifle? Just wondering if any owners can chime in if this has been the case or not.

Would also be keen to hear any opinions after putting it to use, much appreciated cheers

Rattle is negligable. The Mtn bipod is a great bit of kit.

I've got one on my mountain rifle. It's mint. I hadn't even noticed a rattle.as it a detachable bipod. It only comes out of the pack when I'm lining up an animal at distance in the mountains. I'm so stoked to see a kiwi produce arguably one of the best if certainly one of the lightest, most functional bipods out there. Replaced a Spartan TAC. Way better range of movement for shooting on steep angles. The youtube review is really thorough

I've got one and I love it.. problem is, it doesn't play nicely with a 16inch .308.
Bounces the bloody thing all over the show. I tried loading it up, leaving it and many different scenarios, but it's moving the POI 2inches at 100m - not good enough for use in the field on that rifle.
Other than that minor detail it's the bees knees. I like that you can put rails on each rifle and use it as you please.

I wrapped the feet in sports strapping tape. No more rattle.

I’m waiting for his arca rails to come out.

I had assumed the rattle came from the attachment point, is it to do with the feet somehow?

The new version 2x has tension screws to tighten up the parts that become lose after a bit if use. Much better than the first iteration. I rate and love mtn gear bipod. Best bit if kit I've used, and I've used spartan, tierone, Harris, Caldwell, hardys and a mates backlanz. I rate the mtngear as the best and Matt is awesome to deal with.

The rattle sound comes from the feet hitting together as the legs have a very slight amount of play in them.

The movement in the legs is actually a good thing as that slack gets taken up when you load the bipod to shoot.

By the way, what material are the feet made from?

I just bought one which should turn up in the next few days, I'll let you know when it turns up if no one else beats me to it.

Made of hard plastic, not suitable on the bonnet of the truck!

Had mine a couple of months, now laying rest in thick beech saplings. It’s not something you leave on so went in the back of the pack now gone burger. Haven’t felt that pain since I lost my school jersey and as a kid and reporting it to mum.

The only way I can gey any sligjt rattle out of mine is if the legs are fully extended and folded forward, instead of retracted when carrying. Not an issue imo.
