Hi, just waiting a reply from a heli company but in the meantime anyone have a link on the limit of gas for your cookers when flying in?

As many as you can fit inside your pack where they can't be seen anyhow
    Got-ya, BSA270 and Sika 8 like this.
    270 is a harmonic divisor number[1]
270 is the fourth number that is divisible by its average integer divisor[2]
270 is a practical number, by the second definition
The sum of the coprime counts for the first 29 integers is 270
270 is a sparsely totient number, the largest integer with 72 as its totient
Given 6 elements, there are 270 square permutations[3]
    10! has 270 divisors
270 is the smallest positive integer that has divisors ending by digits 1, 2, …, 9.

I’m sorry Ryan_Songhurst as you come across as a pretty upstanding sort of guy, but as someone who makes their living as a pilot I am appalled that you would suggest that people hide undeclared dangerous goods in their luggage.

Here’s what Haast Heli emailed last year

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) limit the dangerous goods we can carry. Please take note of and apply the following limits to your gear list:
    • NO LPG bottles with passengers. No exceptions.
    • Ammunition: Max 5kg per person per load.
    • Butane gas cannisters: Max 1 kg per package (not bigger than 500 g each cannister).
    • White Spirits: Max 20 litres per load in approved containers (e.g. petrol/diesel jerries’).
    • Petrol: Max 5 litres per load in approved containers (e.g. petrol/diesel jerries’).

Dont think he is mate i read that as a statement of what 99% of most people will do anyhow, since having 5kg of ammo is safer maybe make a stove that runs on black powder

Interesting results alright - hopefully will be able to publish a source when i get a reply tomorrow? I looked into the CAA dangerous goods list - was like walking through a mine field - one reference to another etc. Though Outdoorlad seems to got some good info - 20 litres of white spirits - wow.

I agree. My eyebrows reckon white spirits are at least as flammable as petrol.

No it doesn’t but that’s CAA for you! You’d be hard pressed to use half a litre WS on a week long trip.
