Thats as bad as polaris I get my parts from niche industries in us/can bit dear on freight but show parts diagrams aswell also good for yamaha/honda
Yeah, that's a pain in the bum. I've managed to strike that a lot recently, maybe due to me gear still being good at 16 or 18 years old and the dealers now not stocking as much in the way of spare parts and tooling even though the machines themselves are still good as (maybe it's storing them inside and not neglecting them for maintenance...).
One of mine, sintered plain bush, order from overseas and $35 - two weeks delivery and then I have to go back to the outfit and get it. Landed in 10 days at my letter box, $14 including shipping.
Yeah, some businesses charged like crazy.
With that kind of mark up, I wonder how many repeated customer they have.
Same goes with digger part, a lot cheaper if we get them from oversea,

Just did the same with amazon, bent the tool tying to get the primary off so looked on u tube, filled the hole with grease and then screwed in the pusher bolt, pops straight off, how did I manage before u tube?

Yeah will only buy through dealer if I absolutely have to. 4wd actuator on my outlander had given up so thought I’d do the right thing and get a quote from the dealer. Near on $500 opposed to one I got from US for $200 landed here in 2 weeks. Same thing for front drive shaft and couplers. Less than half the price to order from the states and arrived within 2 weeks.
These are all classic examples of charging what the market will stand, not running on a reasonable markup. Kiwis are rorted at every turn.
I needed a chainsaw part and it was a third of the price to import it from the US, even allowing for the high freight.
I have 2 thirty years old nail guns, Paslode NZ don't carry the parts. Amazon ship them to me from San Diego in 10 days.
