@Barry the hunter I have just been in looking at phones today, the guy in the shop said 11 over the se. Did say the Appo phones are good.
Said also most new phones had a limited battery life the more you use the more drain on the battery. Two days max with no use

Hey thanks to all of you most kind to reply - I knew some info would come out - may come down to whether the 11 is more robust than the SE but it will be one or the other - and yup shutting of everything on phone not needed does help with battery life

i phone 11 doesn't have a home page as such. 11 is no more robust then the SE but 11 is newer technology.(think thats what he said :D) The likes of your i phones and samsung phones you can get a life cases for and another brand of water proof tuff case. About $70
The Oppo phones i believe not?

The newer phones with the slim line lighter weight chassis are very prone to bending - not an arse-pocket prospect...

What's the story with running the battery out.
I charge my Samsung go to work and charge when home gets down to maybe 70% sometimes.

I phones want to do everything for you (software wise) but generally do it badly. Some of the early Androids had problems with battery life but that is a thing of the past in my experience as is the stability/software issue. I swapped a Samsung S20FE for an iPhone 11 unfortunately when I swapped jobs. Even my previous S8 was better than the iPhone in all these aspects. Try a S21 or S22 (normal size) or an you will find it's not only better value but better software/stability/battery life etc

Also unless (like Ryan) you are trying to drive over it or feed it to calves, I have found a spigen cases excellent protection.

Iv got an rugged phone it ant that rugged & getting bugged now on Android & I'll stay on Android my question is how do you till if you phone has a in built compass for use on topo50 as my phone dose and it great so when you turn round the blue location dot turns on the map with you now Dad's just got a Samsung a13 I think and I loaded up the topo 50 for him and has blue dot thingy won't turn when you're standing on ridge turning circle and I sent an email to the topo50 people about it and they said it's because his phone wouldn't have an inbuilt compass and he said a lot of the Samsung have this problem is there a way to put a compass so the mapping system can do that I hope I explained it well enough lol

iphone had/have a bunch of drawback, but they are built to last.

The iphone 4 was introduced in 2010, and sold for a couple years. So it's at least 10 years old.

I still have a ipad3 (got in 2012), that is still being used by my kids (not many apps, but thats a different story)
