    Cheap chinese borescope

    So I took a punt on Aliexpress and bought this cheap endoscope for $10 delivered.

    The LED's are a bit dull, so I used a flash light at the chamber end of the bore and put the camera in at the muzzle end.

    I had one, waste of time. You need to look at the lands and groves, not down the bore.
    The cheapest I have found that works well is the Lyman bore cam. Some advantages of the likes of Hawkeye... You look at a screen, can capture and send pictures.

    It's true they're not the best boroscope you can buy however they do work - and they're still 100% better than the boroscope you don't have when you need one. They are also improving in quality, albeit slowly.

    Would I buy one? Yep... how can you lose for $10, including freight from China? The only reason I've not got one yet is because I have my work boroscope available when I need it. When they take it off me I'll be buying one of these for sure.

    you can get some great bargains on ali. i import quite a few electronic parts from there and no issues with quality.
    currently i am waiting for a "wonder woman" cell phone case for the wife as every morning i hear "i wonder where i left my phone/keys/purse/etc"
    if you dont hear any more posts from me i am either divorced or dead

    The LEDs on your borescope will likely be bright enough - it's just the bore is too shiny, like a wet asphalted road at night that your lights just don't seem to illuminate.
    Tape a piece of wire to the borescope and put a bit of paper at the end of it, ahead of the borescope. Reflects the light back nicely.
    Just make sure the paper ball is further out than the sharpest focus.

    XXXo borescope

    _____ wire

    * paper

    (You may have received some wee attachments to the borescope you can use for this).

    It was a 260 rem bore ,,,,
    the camera specs said it was 5.5 mm So I figured anything over that was ok. I admit that the initial thrusting down the bore may be a bit agressive ///but I am sure if you take it gently that the results will be great

    I actually found that it will go down a .224 dia barrel as well. just a little tight, and I found I didnt have the LED intensity all the way up.
