Question Compact Sleeping Bag for under $400

I've had a good look through all of the help on here about sleeping bags and have found some very helpful stuff, but I still haven't come to a good conclusion on what to purchase within what I was hoping to get, size and price wise.

Would be very appreciated if anyone was to help me out on suggestions or point me in the right direction.

Was looking for a bag thats:

    - relatively small or can compact down quite well (weight inst a huge issue but would love if I can fit well in the bottom of 50-60L pack or the bottom of my day pack )
    - Under $400
    - I'm not too worried about it being lesser degree rated if it makes it cheaper

Are these things realistic or would I have to spend more?

Got a trip on Friday so absolutely looking forward to having a new bag to try out maybe 酪

Trade me often has good deals for quality second hand bags. I’m watching this quilt which is super light and spend $200 on a good sleeping mat

How tall are you? Bivouac has the Journey II sleeping bags on clearance at $420, down from $700-odd.

It's a "womens bag" which means it's a little wider around the hips and a bit shorter then the men's equivalent size. Regulars weigh 1100 grams and with -8/-15 comfort/limit you'll be cosy anywhere.

In general if you want a bag that's compressible you'll want a down fill, and if you want cheap it would need to be a light summer bag as well. That said, a 3-season synthetic bag isn't enormous. I have a +2/-5 synthetic bag that i stuff in a compression sack and it sits in my pack just fine.

Nice going @Lemons ! Liners are well worth it, in my opinion. I'm in Dunedin too - might see you out on the trail sometime. Hope the weather hasn't ruined your trip.
