    Crispi Boots

    Hi All,

long story short i had a pair of lowa tibet pros that i bough many moons ago and they were always a size to small and hurt like buggery, decided to give them one last crack for a day hunt, ended up loosing both of my big toe nails.
fast forward to now im looking at a pair of either scarpas or splashing out for some crispi nevadas, went to try them on today and i wear a 12 boot normally, tried on the 12.5 and they were really comfy but my toes were super close to the end of the boot, but tried on the 13s and they were way too loose so now im a bit lost as to what to do, because of my last experience im worried about going too small again and blowing another $700+

am i better to go for the smaller size or are they going to hurt after my feet warm up?

or do i go for the larger size and pack out with socks to stop my foot sloshing?

or am i better to go for a boot thats a better fit?

    Thanks in advance

Definitely don’t go the smaller size, your feet swell up a bit during the day when your bashing around the hills, so either go for the bigger size and wear two pairs of Sox’s, I wear a light liner Sox and a thicker wool Sox on top or try another brand.
It’s suggested you try boots on later in the day when you’ve been on your feet a bit, I recently bought a new pair and I took my Sox’s in to try with them.

Go up a size. After a bit of wear mine seemed to shrink a bit no issues but next pair will go up half size

As above. You can also make up an extra innersole to go under the factory one just to pack out the inside a bit. I used 3mm eva foam.

Go up a size and get a sock liner I run these and as girly as they look, they work great stops the skin rubbing off between your toes especially when you have wet boots all day

My niece ran the 100 miler here in Nelson recently in those, said after that distance she did have one very small blister but not the usual many she would normally expect to get, so I will be getting some soon.

I have crispi. Went up half a size and use two pairs of socks. Warfighter on outside, and a pair of "inner" or liner socks from Mountain warehouse.
13km days and no rubbing, have not needed to tape my toes or heel like I did with my lowas.

That's interesting. I'm on my 4th pair of lowa rangers, never had any blister issues with the first 3 pairs but this last pair has been giving me a lot. I've been taping up and double sock before a big climb and still getting hot spots. I'm sure they've changed something or I'm just getting soft.

I’ve had 2 pairs of Rangers, both have had the rand come off, needs to be higher like the Tibet, sick of it so this time I’ve gone for the crispi Nevada

They are comfy boots out of the box and most water proof boot I've owned but they have seem to jumped in price the last few years. I paid $550 for mine 3 years ago and don't have a lot of life left in them.
Now $800 its hard to justify the price increase.
