Weka is good. Good value and robust. Carries a good load. Don't worry about the canvas making noise...the idea is to not make noise when hunting, so just be careful

There's a boned out deer in here, and I tied the 2 legs to the outside.

I have a expeed lightning 50l with roll top and love it for a day pack to extended trips. Had it well over weight a bunch of times and its still going great. Had to bend the aluminium pole back straight while down south with a tahr head and skin loaded in there plus some other gear.

Lite as and still take a beating

Huntech has held up well for me, its lite weight, durable but lacks an internal frame

Thanks for all the replys. Had a quick look at a huntech 40l at h&f today pretty basic pack what am wanting, good size but the shoulder straps could do with a little more padding and a chest strap option. Hard when you live in a place like gisborne not alot of range to look at.
I'll keep a eye on trademe next few weeks try my luck

+1 for the Exped Lightening 50L. Very light ( ~1kg) empty pack and lots of great features. Google them on YouTube to see what u get.
I picked one 2nd hand for $150 and it's like brand new.

So does there frame stick up at the back and get hooked up when you duck under branches, or are they framless

+1 for the Weka. I had a HE Peak 45L and find the weka way more comfortable, more user friendly and better for space. A mate has a Mikelat and the Weka is obviously bigger. He also had the original Huntech pack which is basic and can take a load but sounds like the new ones maybe aren't up to the same work load. I was really impressed with the Weka for comfort and weight on it's first outing. The only thing I don't like is the tiny clips but at the end of the day they seem to work.

@25/08IMP Frame sticks up like any load capable pack, you need the height to lift the load. Wicked in open country, PITA in the bush. I have the lightening 60 as my main pack. Its an awesome pack but no good as a daypack for the bush IMO

@Bryan @Danny how do you find the mollyme in the bush? Quiet enough? I like the look of them and love that you can roll them up as well

@Nick-D I find it plenty quiet enough in the Bush. Still see to shoot deer in close. They roll down really small yet can carry a surprisingly large amount of gear. The first photo I posted has the pack full with a boned out red yearling. Comfortable to carry with weight in it. The scabbard bit at the back is also good for holding a head or a couple or am back legs when kept clipped up.
