    Dehydrated meal advice please

Back in NZ after too many years away and keen to get into the bush and chase some deer.
Need some advice re dehydrated meals. What’s good and best value. I have a healthy appetite (fat bastard) so unsure of what I will need each day. Looking at four night expedition. Thanks.

After trying them all I prefer Radix nutrition. Probably the most expensive but taste good and I actually feel full after one meal. Get 700 range ones I think that's what I get. Can buy direct.

backcountry are good value for money...the cooked breakfast for two is perfect for the "fat barstard" who likes a good sized feed....
tried a dehy pudding the other week...carrot cake n custard and was rather impressed.
lamb n peas is another good one.
a couple of packets of 2 minute noodles will bulk out any of the ones you over water... that has been my go to for bush food for years.
it surely has come ahead leaps n bounds from 30 years ago.

Absolute Wilderness now Real Meals are not too bad.
I was off work for a couple months recovering post op and thought I would try most of them.
Reckoned if not bad at home they will be good when hungry.
Back Country Carrot Cake and Custard is a goodie.
It is down to personal preference.
OSMs can fill a hole pretty quick I have one for a late breakfast.

Check the salt content of whatever you buy. I'm not a health freak. I like salt and use a lot, but some of those meals are just too salty. Some of the Backcountry Meals contain half to all of the salt you should consume in a day in one serving (depending on which guidelines you look at).

Go Native is terrible, bought them for last years roar and had to eat 2-3 to even feel like it made an impact, my old man had the same problem. Also the guidelines for boil time weren't accurate for us with the Jetboil Flash 2.0, after 15min on the boil in the bag was still cold. Won't be buying them again but unfortunately I bought a bulk load so have to try eat them before they go off.
I'm going through the process of trying all the Backcountry's- really enjoyed the Creamy Carbonara but again, need the 2 serve to fill me up.
Next on the list will be going through the Real Meals and Radix

@SikaHuntaa as I said earlier...find the backcountry breakfast for two... there are two versions and the sausage n egg wit hbeans is great,I DONT EVEN LIKE BAKED BEANS BUT REALLY ENJOY THIS ... also try bulking out the tasty but not big enough meals with packet of 2minute noodles mixed in... works a treat.
dehy mashed spuds is another way to bulk it out for little weight or bulk.

Agree about the Backcountry breakfast. Tasted alright and seemed huge.

I like the omeals self heating meals for short trips. Not dried but saves taking a cooker so overall lighter and easier to work with. Taste better than a lot of the dried stuff.
