    It's horses for courses. If you want to carry a big load a long distance a good hipbelt and frame are invaluable. Size of pack required varies with the mission I like the Kuiu daypacks around 30-35 litres for a day mission, or a full size >60 litre Kuiu for multi-day missions.
    For areas I can get away with a smaller gear load I love my old Swazi bumbag that folds into a daypack. (Buffalo bag?) it can fit a boned out veni.
    Also works good with a whole veni on a carry belt, the bum bag props up the weight so some load goes on your hips.
