Doc boundries for GPS & Google Earth

Need some help with downloading the DOC Layers for Boundries, Huts, Campsites etc to both my

    Garmin Rino GPS

    And

Google Earth loaded onto my iPad

I have previously loaded these kmz files onto Google Earth on my lap top and want to replicate this on my other devices.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

Do you already have the KMZ file or do you need to obtain it? It's been a while but I think you have to convert KMZ to GPX for the gps and just load the KMZ file onto google earth on the ipad.

Massive Attack's IT support service is here to help. All I need is your internet banking password, cc number, expiry date and three digit security code.

No, all I need is password, cc number, expiry date and three digit security code and I will sort out the payment. It's all part of the service I provide.

Please not that because I am in IT I am not committing to fixing your problem, just that I will work on it for some undefined period of time.

man I just got the paper map from doc.....cut out the shape of the area and fitted it onto a std topo map as they are the same scale...then drew around the outside once Id lined up a few features...piece of piss to do.... now you could do same thing and draw a track with google earh without too much hassle. I managed it by doing photo with phone of doc map off thier site then went to google earth and placed track around where it looked to be...not 100% exact but then boundaries that follow creeks/ridges never are and a straight line is just that.

No worries, Stretch. And I'm just up the road and round the corner from you.

Thanks guys for your help, especially @stretch

The upload of these kmz files to my GPS seems. Pretty straight forward

Loading them into Google Earth on my iPad is proving to be more difficult.
    @MassiveAttack

I've sent you the required information ....... You may now begin work on my problem ........... No pressure but I am expecting a workable result by the morning.

Place the kmz files in your Google Drive (I assume you have a Google account), and access your Google drive from within Google Earth. Works fine for the huts and campsites. The hunting areas map chokes because it is too big for Google Earth to draw. At least, that's the problem on my Android tablet.

I have created a smaller version that show the hunting areas for your neck of the woods, and it works fine, proving it is a memory problem with Google Earth.

No idea why Tongariro N.P. is a darker colour.

Thats appreciated. I estimate this work to take 13 story points. Have you tried loading the kml onto google earth on the computer (while logged into your google account). I would think the great google in the sky would remember your kml and then show it to you on the ipad.

Of course I haven't tried this, it's a semi educated guess that just cost you 8 story points. 5 left so spend them wisely.

If that fails turn the ipad, computer and the internet off and back on again.
