Thread: Doing my first fly in hunt to a hut

So, me and a buddy booked our first fly in hunt and staying in a hut but after some advice, hut is fully stoked so don’t need to take cooking gear.

But says to bring big roll bag for clothes and a day pack, I have neither of these as I usually walk in - but they don’t want framed packs. After some advice on what bag? Just a generic 60l duffle and any of the “hunting” brand 25l day packs?

Hunts in late Feb to catch the animals coming out of velvet before every other fella starts hammering the area for the roar. So don’t need hectic warm weather gear - but am probably after some summer pants.

Most my hunting is done off the farm or out of road end camp site so haven’t had to think to hard about what I take as plenty of space.

Also after generic gear tips. Taking some battery packs for sure.
