Ask Ron, massive long shots in there lol
@scotty , they do sometimes. But then usually miss
yes Ive heard of the extreme long range when hind is running over top of fella LOL....
his 2x7 has been very good scope for a LOT of years
the wee pig plex jobbies hard to beat for dedicated up close n personal work but a bit more at top end would be nice too.
75/15/10 black powder matters
I have a VX5 on my light weight bushpig, it has a light weight carbon stock and when carrying it feels top heavy and wants to flip over in your hand if you dont hold it tight.... i am thinking the scope is too heavy for the light stock... i really like the scope but as others have said there may be a better lighter option for a bush gun.

I have this one. A tad heavy but quite good glass , very good reticule, and not too high turret.
In a free dreams ideal world, I'd be able to shoot half as well with my flash gear as those fullbore guys do with open sights.
So I see magnification as very useful but perhaps not completely neccessary.
I'll stick with Leupold 2-7 as the do all scope.
Overkill is still dead.
Nightforce 2-10
I've moved into the digital age. I am only mainly out at night.
I do have some glass! But it has not too much of the fancy coatings that stops the IR and mine don't.
And the other is fully digital and seeing I don't shoot paper much, then it's great for my need.
Iam a dualist IR/thermal for cold night's, it keeps me warm inside.
To the nocturnal one who never slumbers or sleeps.

The Voice of Reason, Come let us Reason together...
I have an Element Helix HD 2-16 x 50, which I rate.
I’ve been looking at the Arken EP-L 4-16 range too for another rifle, FFP and nice looking holdover reticle for hunting, but 4X can be a bit too much in the bush I find
I have had most…
General feedback:
Vx5 3-15 is hard to beat for value and performance, I just changed everything to ffp and mil so it doesn’t tick those box’s
I have a March 3-24x42 great scope, I thought it was a bit dark on low light so went and bought 2x nx8 2.5-20 x 50 ffp mil, one for target gun one for hunting. I think the Nightforce glass is possibly worse than the March, and it has a 50mm objective….
Still have a Swaro 3-10x42, it’s a nice scope but no dials.
So no golden goose but I think my March is the closest I have to perfect for my needs so far
I have the Arken EP-L 4-16x44 mil ffp. I like the scope in general for steel target and farm shooting. The elevation and parallax turrets are way too big for a hunting scope, especially if you were taking it into the bush! I would prefer my old vortex pst1 ffp over the Arken for hunting.
