Interesting idea but fairly unscientific my thoughts are that wool keeps you warmer when it's wet but takes longer to dry, synthetic days quicker but have found myself cold when wearing it and gotten sweaty then stopped in a breeze

Yeah, I've found the synthetic dries really quickly, it just doesn't hold moisture. Wool gets wet and stays wet for ages which makes it heavy too.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

Interesting topic, all about finding what system works for you personally.

Main outake was to put a warm layer on and then start walking!! Angry walking

Yep, never had to decide between exercise and camp to stay warm but exercise sure makes sense unless there is a hut with some dry firewood nearby

Curious that with the strong chinese imprint here, that silk underwear hasn't arrived yet.
Used when in Canada in 80's.
Very warm to wear, light, compact packing, (fireproof) but thin to sweat in.
    Great as sleeping wear.

and now that I've actually watched the vid, useless for this experiment!
Hmm, maybe I should test it.
Problem is, now too fat and fitless (?) to last long enough to get dry/warm most likely.

Pricing wise, it was no more costly than typical synthetics. Merino hadn't made it there yet (in 80's that is).
I used a local wool mix underwear top, wet or dry.
Mostly wet in the west.... (BC).
