    Re: Eberlestock Packs???

I have a J34 that I use for carrying my LR rifle in. My 338 is about 57" long & weighs 18lb. It has a 56mm scope on it, I have to take the bipod off to fit it in the scabbard, but that's fine by me... It still sticks out a fair way and is a bit of a pain in scrub/scrambling through and under rocks but its a hell of a lot easier than carrying it over my shoulder. With my 26" barrel 7mm my experience is the same as the above poster.

One thing to be aware of is that the packs are reasonably heavy, but I find mine very comfortable, and the scabbard is awesome when tops/alpine hunting. I was always fighting with my rifle on a sling, now I have both hands free and can concentrate on where I'm going, not on where my rifle is going...

If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

Thanks for that info guys, yep have looked at longrangehunting threads but still left me wondering....
Maybe a 30'' barrel and big Nightforce are going to be tight.
