    Electronic Earmuffs

I have recently taken up bird shooting and the fact that I am half deaf coupled with the fact that I am a shit shot I decided I need some electronic earmuffs.

I want low profile ones, anyone have any recommendations or even ones to avoid.

On trademe I see peltor, Howard leight and Caldwell

Hi Steve, I have a pair of MSA Sordin - Supreme Pro X. You are more than welcome to check them out if you wish.
All the other brands are toys in comparison.

++1 likewise. Had mine now for about 5 years. Previous to that a set of Danish electronic muffs. The Sordins are both simple to operate and superb in operation. Unfortunately quality doesn't come cheap! These are the ones that you will see beneath the helmets of the US special forces - not a bad endorsement for a non USA made product.

If you order then from the states, make sure you get them with gel ear cups.

As an aside, I went to use my brand new Sordins today and the speaker in the right ear is fucked. Not well pleased!

I do find them more comfortable to wear than the others.
