    EXCHANGE A BLADE KNIFE

Any one using a type of knife like this, not as there main knife more for capping or cleaning up a skull where a small sharp blade is needed. Mate has a gerber but just seeing if there are others out there.

    The Havalon is excellent.
I run an Outdoor Edge as my main knife now.

They seem to love these in the US. I have thought about one for the shooting pouch
Even talk about not only resharpening the blades if you want but making the new ones even sharper.

They are more suitable for caping i find than butchering and you cannot torque them at all (Outdoor edge make one you can possibly torque). I use one for head skinning and can process an animal easily enough with a blade or two but to be fair if you can keep a knife sharp then a regular is more suitable for the average NZer.

PS the Gerber helps to be modified by grinding back the mount to expose more blade as it only has the last inch or so effectively exposed.

Great for caping and gutting, less so. For popping joints etc. That said it will do it you just have to be a bit careful. I have one as the backup/ secondary knife.

    That’s for 12

It’s an ongoing cost, but if it’s a used rarely in your daybag type knife, I’d expect not to be buying too frequently

Frankly if it’s for frequent use the argument learn to sharpen a decent blade well would prevail imho.

Perfect for that. Exactly what I use it for.
I use one blade per deer. You can give them a touch up on a strop if needed also
