I take a North Face Verto 35 day pack with mine.
They are essentially just another dry bag and only weigh 350gms from memory and folds completely into one of its own pockets.
Heaps of space for day hunting away from the main pack.
Have it loaded in the top of the Exped ready to go.
Drop the big pack if I see something and take the Verto with the GPS on so I can find my way back to the main pack.
I had a Cloudburst day pack also that was nice but its not as long as the verto.
Verto is deep enough for the Swarovski spotter and carbon fiber tripod to be inside with a full days worth of other stuff like coat, food and survival gear.
Not a set up that would be suitable for meat hunting though.
There are now North Face stores in Queenstown and Auckland now.
