    Exped sleeping bags

Gday all, in the market for a new sleeping bag.
I see Bivouac outdoors has some Exped models for 40% off.

Would be looking at either a -7 or -10 degree model

Has anyone had any experience with these? Would appreciate any reviews/reccomendations/comments.

    Cheers

Cant speak on behalf of sleeping bags but I have seen them and always liked the look of them and can vouch for their product and service. Had the inflatable mats for a while and always liked them . Though maybe not as robust as thermarest. Half the price and far more comfy.

I have an Exped lite -5 bag which I love, it’s comfortable, roomy and packs down small which is always a bonus and something I look for in a bag but I consider it more of a 3 season but I have used it in the alpine environment over winter with no issues.

Sleeping bags really are a personal thing as it depends on what environment, bush, alpine, 3 season, 4 season, tents, huts your using it in and whether you sleep hot or cold.

Also look at the domex range and compare the bags on their specs for weight, material.

Equip outdoors also have some sharp prices for domex bags

I have had one for maybe three years, great bag -16 or something. Only thing I can say that I don't like about it is that the down can move around a bit and thin out in some places and be really thick in others. It is easily remedied but all I can think of that I don't like about it. Zip is good, as long as you are careful, it is not a grab and yank but a finger guide it type of arrangement. Packs down good, fit's in my 50ltr pack no issue and is a cool colour

I'm looking into quilts as I need to cut weight in my packs, but will be comparing bags and quilts in the new year

    Hi there
I have 2 Exped bags, one down and the other synthetic. Both are great bags that work as they should. They pack down to a small size and are comfortable to sleep in. I found that you need to understand the heat retention functions of the different parts of the bags to get the most out of them. A good shake when you get them out of the carry bag redistributes the down around the baffles. I recommend them, and their other gear like sleeping mats are good gear as well. Cheers Ruger7mm
