    Explorer lighter

    May be of interest to some.

    I am hopeless with having a lighter on me. Took a client in the hills a few weeks ago and had to light my cookers with a magnesium striker. I normally always forget something small but needed. No hair on my hands and plenty of strange looks from a concerned individual.

    Anyway come across this water/wind proof (plasma?) USB rechargeable lighter on amazon.
    24 bucks on amazon delivered.
    Has a lanyard and works as advertised so far.

    Looks like it doubles as a Taser so you can get a head start on those pesky West Coast Wildmen that run rampant in the hills around your place.

    Saw these advertised for the first time just last week actually. Look like they could be the go. I'd be interested in your review.

    So now with hairless palms, you might look semi human. :;

    For firelighting , shouldn't you have 2 or 3 methods, if your in the hills?

    Yeah you should. I forgot a lighter or 2. Normally have them in the tent pockets.
    I always have a magnesium striker in my bino biv, and an msr cooker with electronic igniter....so I had 2
    Now I will have 4 methods.

    first 2 trips after giving up smoking ....no lighter or matches.....got caught out trout fishing with family and nothing in wagon to light cooker for a cuppa tea.....you CANT light tissue paper with ciggy lighter on dash...believe me I tried and tried...anyone who knows me will tell you a cuppa tea is second only to breathing in importance....then found box of .22lr ammo in glovebox....pulled projectile out and tipped half powder on tissue,the lighter worked on that,fizzzzzz poof flame,lit cooker and had cuppa.
    got lighter in every vechile along with a bacho knife...my bumbag has matches and striker in wee canister.
    the waterproof matches are fine but the striker is the weak link.

    years ago Dad n I were out back of farm ,same deal no matches...he took sparkplug lead off chainsaw,wee bit of petrol on rag,pulled starter cord and we were away laughing.

    lol....yip cook up feed and then replace it.....mate had packet of raspberry sparkles that did many trips before we spent unplanned night out and scoffed them.
    sometimes I miss the old school film canisters,they were so handy for matches and stuff.
