    female hiking boots?

My girlfriend has indicated that she's like to go on small hikes and her running shoes are only good in summer time.

What one's have you guys bought for your girls? I'm mindful of spending heaps as this interest might not last a midwinter hike.

keeping in mind she is a size 40.

    cheers

Hells bells mate. Dangerous territory. Take her to a boot shop and let her pick her own. If you pick them and she sprains her ankle it will be your fault for the next 50 years!

Her interest won't last long if she goes on a hike with poor boots. First step, get her some hi quality hiking socks, then hit the shoe/outdoor shops.

we got some for the midget...ooops I mean Mrs at kathmando....we looked at heaps but I convinced her to buy the pair with best heal.... a LOT of modern tramping boots have no more than 1cm of heel on them, great for not cutting up tracks but piss poor for going down slope in wet conditions...

@Russian 22 Hit up @Sarvo & see if he has any of those La Sportiva - lightweight hunting boots left me & the missus both got a pairabout a year ago, she loves them & comes hunting with me often & does her own carry out .They were cheap for what they are & they have lasted very well. He had a batch of weird sizes he was trying to get rid of as well at knocked down prices from memory .

I'll PM him again. it's not super urgent although it'd be good to get a pair while her interest is still there

I can get most women's Lowa New
The La Sportiva mentioned above ??
Cannot remember them and most likely were 2nd hand
La Sportiva are top boots - but more suited to Alpine serious tramping
I myself find them too rigid
Tahr hunters - yes for sure

But best women boot for comfort - lasting and can wear out on the streets etc
Is the Mauria or Albula Lowa GTX W's

@Sarvo your memory is as bad as mine They were definitely new as we had to wait a couple of weeks for extra sizes order to come in & you did a couple of different styles these have more leather in them & others were more mesh type, l thought we got them earlier but missus thinks it was around xmas. So l take it that means you are not carrying them anymore ?

They the light weight ones - must be - as I never sold any of the Alp types new - I think ??
And by the way - I prob sold 200 boots since then - and I am an old codger

They were the only ones I ever sold of them - maybe one other pair
