    Not point carrying a full kit if you don't no how to use it.

    Yeah. To me that would be the max, along with a PLB and a survival blanket. I carry bugger all really but always have a survival blanket and a PLB. I've used the survival blanket a couple of times. They do work if you have pre-thought layering and a outer shell.
    You read on here about people carrying enough shit to sink a ship including stuff for full out warfare. Well, I have never heard of anyone dying in our bush because of not having enough bandages and wound plugs, but plenty have died of exposure because they didn't have the appropriate clothing and weather protection, or a PLB.

    We should prepare for the most likely thing that will happen, not the least likely thing that will happen.

    This kit seems rather fitting as an all rounder if I throw in some painkillers and meds for the missus.

    And I've done the saint john first aid course 3 times, so I'm not completely in the dark
