Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
No - M24 and 2X are current models and likely to remain so for a while.
The standard M24 runs at 3.0 amps and 80-84k lux, and runs 110 minutes on continuous full power with panasonic 3100s.. There is a higher amp M24S version with maybe 90-95k lux spot running at 3.5 amps, but with its extra current draw the M24S will give you lower runtime.

Did more lux testing on couple of dedomed M24s the other night and they rated 167-169k lux - double the lux output of standard lights. This with new meter which reads bit lower than old one. Gadget and I have field tested torches running round 170k with rangefinder and found they were - in very clear conditions - good for picking out big animal bodies with naked eye to 500 yards. So you can happily shoot to 300+ with a reasonable safety margin behind target. And that's a hell of a long way at night! The bigger 2X dedomed runs round 240-250k lux so you'd be looking at 600 yards or so on bodies in clear country conditions.
We've recently given serious thought to new hunter designs for Maxtoch, or upgrades for the M24 and 2X, but after looking at a range of ideas there's really nothing more to develop at present. The M24 is an excellent all-purpose light (combines beam width plus long distance spot, scope mounted or handheld) and ideal at just 270 gms and $80NZ delivered. Dedomed its a wee beauty. And the 400gm 2X runs perfectly as a handheld with its big stock (120k lux) and dedomed (240-250k lux) outputs. Nothing there to tweak as they are already running copper boards/anti-reflective lens tech etc, and any higher amps/outputs means lower batt runtimes.
Next step I think will be an led advancement eg to an XML3 or XPL etc ... in time ....... We would welcome any ideas - key there is that new designs have to have wide market appeal (eg M24 very popular now with law enforcement) and not do exactly same hunter job as M24 and 2X. I put a question on international budgetlightforum (blf) which is where gadget and I source and develop lights over last few years. Here's a recent discussion on a range of poss new lights - mostly tech talk but nothing really new:
