About LinkBacksQuentin I would be interested to check the Maxtoch 2X at that range in its medium mode. Medium also has huge range at about 250k lux (high mode 365k), and is the normal hunting mode for the light - with longer runtime.
No need for photo if its a hassle, but would be keen to know how well the 2X's medium picks up those 800m rocks. Should also do it ok..
On one of our sites beside the mountains we get the maximum distance from the lights, but on another with rivers in the area we are down to like half the distance by midnight. Alot of moisture build-up in the air after a while - good for people to bear in mind.
